What is your current position?

"I am currently serving as the Executive Assistant to the President of Rock & Republic."

“Rock & Republic is an international lifestyle brand headquartered in Los Angeles, CA.  Beyond their premium denim lines, Rock & Republic specializes in high end ready-to-wear, accessories, footwear, cosmetics, racing gear, maternity wear, and children’s wear. In 2009, Rock & Republic will open their first retail store in LA.”

"I get to work in a place where I can experience everything in fashion including designing concepts, garment production, sales, merchandising, distribution (domestically and internationally), advertising, fashion shows (my personal favorite), and much more. One day I'll handle products and get (my hands dirty) with this job, while the next day I’m escorting the editor of a major magazine down the red carpet along with my boss. Fashion is dynamic, fast-paced, and I feel truly fortunate to have a job at this age that I LOVE. It didn't come easy, though. I started as a receptionist at the company, and went above and beyond the duties of that job. Before I knew it, the president was requesting ME to be her executive assistant. I certainly paid my dues."

What do you like most about a career in merchandising?

"I get to experience every aspect of the fashion industry and utilize my creativity. Merchandising is a broad term, which is nice because you get to dabble in many different areas and wear many 'hats.' It never gets old."
