Executive-in-Residence Lecture Series, Peter McGrath, JCPenney
Peter McGrath, executive vice president and director of private brands for JCPenney Company, was the featured speaker at the Executive-in-Residence Lecture Series on October 12, 2006. McGrath also serves as the chairman of Global Product Marketing for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Cotton Board. His dynamic presentation highlighted the development of private apparel brands within the context of a global economy.
This year’s lecture coincided with the U.S. Senate’s declaration of 2006 as the "Year of Study Abroad," recognizing the importance of succeeding in a global society. The UNT Hong Kong/China Study Abroad program has been enriched immeasurably by the generous involvement of companies such as J.C. Penney. Former study abroad participants returned to campus to reminisce with other alumni and share their experiences with current students. At the conclusion of the event, McGrath was inducted into the UNT Study Abroad Hall of Fame for his hallmark contributions to international education. The Executive-in-Residence Lecture Series is made possible by an endowment from the JC Penney Company.
