Texas Restaurant Association Recognizes Lauren Banchetti with W. Price Jr. Memorial Scholarship
Lauren
Banchetti, undergraduate student in hospitality management, received the W.
Price Jr. Memorial Scholarship for the fall 2008 - spring 2009 academic school
year. The scholarship was awarded by the Texas Restaurant Association
Scholarship Nominating Committee. Scholarships are valued of $5000 for
recipients attending a four-year university. Out of 48 entries, Lauren rose to
the top as one of the most stellar students in the industry. She is currently
pursing two undergraduate degrees which include a Bachelors of Science in
Hospitality Management, and a Bachelor's of Business Administration with a
concentration in Entrepreneurship. She is a member of three honor societies, Eta
Sigma Delta, Beta Gamma Sigma, and Magna Cum Laude. Lauren is also an active
member of the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality. As she studies, she
maintains two hospitality oriented jobs including working at her family’s
restaurant in Dallas. Lauren looks forward to graduation so that she may take
over the family business. She aspires to build additional locations for the
restaurant and eventually start up a business of her own.
