Norms of modesty, gender roles differences, workplace etiquette, and other external global influences on traditional dress were presented to the Fashion Theory and Trend Analysis course this spring.  Faculty and students from India, Japan, Kenya, South Korea and Vietnam shared how their cultural heritage, traditions, customs, and rituals are deeply rooted in traditional dress. Topics ranged from “how to tie a sarong” to “walking in kimono.” The traditional costumes exhibited custom details and craftsmanship foreign to the mass-customized world.  Panel members from left to right were Srinivas Chamakura, Mai Kato, Sampath Pamidimukkala, Wambui Kungu, Sua Jeon, Thao-Vi Dotter and Dr. Audhesh Paswan.
