Eddie Pruekpairojkul,  Thailand
UNT, Class of 2003

 

Jaturon (Eddie) Pruekpairojkul completed his master's degree in hospitality management at the University of North Texas in 2003.  After working several years in New York for Hyatt hotels, Eddie returned to his native Thailand to pursue his career.  Currently, Eddie is the training manager for Hyatt Regency Hua Hin where he is responsible for the professional development of hundreds of employees.   Eddie notes, "What I learned and experienced from UNT-SMHM has helped me move forward.  I would recommend that students start gaining valuable work experience now.  I still remember the wonderful experiences at UNT." 

 
 

 
 

Daton Lee,  Hong Kong
UNT, Class of 2000 and 2002

 

As the first graduate of the dual MBA/MS in merchandising program at UNT, Daton Lee quickly climbed the corporate career ladder. Daton is the Merchandising Manager for Pepe Jeans, responsible for the administrative and human resource functions for the Shanghai, China operations. While a student at UNT, Daton was the manager for the experiential JCPenney Campus Catalog laboratory. He completed his thesis research on Supply Chain Relationships in Apparel Retail Product Development and published his results in the Journal of Marketing Channels. Daton states, "The greatest advantage of the MBA/MS program was the application of theories and concepts to real-world problems."

 

 

Jan Zhang, Tawain
UNT, Class of 2003

 

Jiaoyan (Jan) Zhang completed her master's in hospitality management in 2003 and has launched a successful career in the United States. She is the manager for electronic distribution for Hyatt Hotels located in Jersey City, New Jersey.   In this relatively new position, Jan develops strategies for automating booking sources to make transactions more cost efficient and reach a wider range of audience. Jan believes that her experiences at UNT provided her with the confidence to make difficult decisions.  Jan further adds, "For this, I am thankful to the SMHM faculty."
