Welcome to the School of Merchandising and Hospitality Management! The goal of our school is to create a positive, inclusive, and welcoming student-centered environment where you are empowered to succeed in your academic and personal pursuits. We are glad that you are a part of our dynamic, growing school with over 1,200 students majoring in merchandising, home furnishings merchandising, electronic merchandising, & hospitality management.

 

Our School provides numerous opportunities for you to become involved beyond the traditional classroom. We strongly encourage you to join a student organization, volunteer to mentor an incoming freshman, participate in the Career Expo, attend an Executive-in-Residence lecture, cheer for your favorite Mean Green team, and assume responsibility for your academic success. Raised in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, best friends Chelsea Thomas (right) Kalisha Hall (left) decided to enroll in college together at UNT. Kalisha, a merchandising major, said Chelsea "keeps me laughing, but most importantly, she has a beautiful heart!" Chelsea, a hospitality management major, admitted that Kalisha is "a great friend. There is never a dull moment with her!" Since sharing a dorm room, Kalisha and Chelsea have learned from each other and developed lasting memories, particularly at the UNT homecoming football game. In between studies, Kalisha and Chelsea spend their free time at the movies. They expect their coming years at UNT to be just as enjoyable.
